Matar paneer is a very delicious and tasty curry. Here “Matar” is basically another name for “Green Peas” and “Paneer” is “Indian Cheese/Cottage Cheese”. It is very easy and quick recipe. Matar paneer is a vegetarian dish including of green peas and paneer in a tomato based sauce with spices. It is a very famous recipe in the restaurants and special occasions and party. It can be served with roti, rice, naan or puri. Paneer is also the protein food which is made by milk. Hence, it is also called a rich in proteins, while peas are packed with proteins and low in carbohydrates.

 

Ingredients You Need To Cook Matar Paneer Recipe

 

  1. Paneer 200gm
  2. Green soft peas ¼ cup
  3. Green chili 2 pieces
  4. Chopped onion 2 cups
  5. Garlic 9 or 10 cloves
  6. Bay leaves 1
  7. Dry red chili 2 pieces
  8. 1 tbsp cumin and coriander seeds
  9. 1 tbsp turmeric powder
  10. 4 tbsp vegetable oil or cooking oil
  11. 1 tbsp red chili powder
  12. 1 tbsp cumin powder
  13. 1 tbsp salt or as per taste
  14. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  15. 1 tbsp garam masala
  16. 2 tbsp curd
  17. 1 tbsp coriander leaves

 

How To Cook Matar Paneer Recipe

 

  • Firstly, we have to heat on the gas on medium flame. Then, we have to add oil on the pan and let it heat. And, after that we will first fry cumin seeds and coriander seeds. Again fry the bay leaves or whole spices and ginger, garlic too.
  • We will stir until it gets little golden brown color. Then we will add turmeric powder and onion to fry and stir.
  • Then we will add 2 cups chopped tomatoes to fry and stir, the heat must be in medium flame. After that we will cook tomatoes for 3 to 4 minutes and cover the lid of the pan to make tomatoes soft.
  • Now we will mix all the onion and spices and tomatoes to fry. After we fry it properly, we will heat- off the gas.
  • And now, we will ready the blender in order to blend fried onion and tomatoes together to make it gravy.
  • Then the gravy must be poured on the hot pan. And, we will add some water also and stir the gravy.
  • Above all, we will add green soft peas on gravy and stir or mix it well. Then we will add fresh cube cut paneer on gravy and mix it well.
  • We will close the lid of the pan and cook for 5 minutes. After that we will mix tbsp curd and coriander leaves to taste the gravy of matar paneer.
  • Now it’s ready to serve.
