Mutton Curry Recipe
Mutton curry recipe is a traditional dish loved by all Nepalese people. It is widely eaten and served in different parts of India as well. Mutton curry is cooked with goad meat that includes full masala. It came out to be so delicious. It’s a simple recipe but yet extremely tasty.
Ingredients You Need To Cook Mutton Curry Recipe
- Mutton with bones – 500gms
- Tomatoes – 2 medium chopped
- Onions chopped – 3 medium
- Green cardamom – 3
- Black Cardamom – 2
- Ginger, garlic paste – 2tbsp
- cinnamon 3 pieces
- Dry red chillies – 2
- Peppercorns – 10
- Turmeric powder – 1tbsp
- Red chilli powder – 2tbsp
- Cumin and coriander powder mix – 2tbsp
- Yoghurt – 3tbsp
- Oil – 3tbsp
- Salt – 1tbsp or as per taste
How To Cook Mutton Curry Recipe
- First, we will heat gas on medium flame to heat oil in a pan. And, add all garam masalas and stir.
- Now, fry red chillies as well as fry the chopped onion around up to 8 minutes on the medium flame of gas till the onion become light brown colour.
- And now we can add 500gm of raw mutton with bone and stir. We have to fry the mutton up to 5 minutes.
- Then, we will add 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, 1/4 cumin and coriander powder, 1 tbsp meat masala, salt as per taste.
- Hence, we have to mix and well marinate the mutton with spices up to 2-3 minutes.
- Then, we will add chopped tomatoes and mix it well in the mutton. We have to cook it up to 5-6 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
- Please note that we have to do this all on a low flame of gas. Now, add yoghurt. After the curd is properly cooked and separates from oil, add two cups of water. Mixx it well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Now transfer this into the pressure cooker and cook till 4-5 whistles. After that, we have to cool it before opening the pressure cooker.
- Then, if the mutton is tender, you can continue to cook in the pan until the meat is softened.
Finally, the hot mutton curry is ready to serve. We can eat it with rice or roti or beaten rice as well. Happy serving. Cheers.
